Dr. Bernstein was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He went to Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, New Jersey where he earned his B.S. in Biology in 1971. For several years he went on tour as a rock and roll musician. He returned to school and earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from New York Chiropractic College in 1978. He was a member of the Phi Chi Omega Honor Society For Scholastic Achievement.

Dr. Bernstein is the founder and director of the Advanced Wellness Center. He is also a Certified Clinical Nutritionist and has attended numerous postgraduate courses in nutrition, spinal manipulation and bio-energetic medicine. 

Dr. Bernstein is the inventor of Digital Response Technique (DRT), a method of assessing the energy flow through all parts of the body. The United States Patent Office awarded him a patent for Digital Response Technique because of its uniqueness and accuracy in detecting and correcting the root causes of health issues.

He is also the developer of God-Breathing™ CD, a relaxing, therapeutic procedure that combines the Holy Scriptures and beautiful classical music with a special breathing technique. It is available in English and in Spanish.

Dr. Bernstein is a member of the International and American Associations of Clinical Nutritionists, the American Chiropractic Association, the Florida Chiropractic Association.

On a more personal note, Dr. Bernstein has been married to Linda since 1989. He is an accomplished singer, songwriter, musician and is one of the praise and worship leaders at Temple Aron HaKodesh, a Messianic Synagogue. He has composed over 100 songs based on scripture. His favorite pastime is to lead people in praise and worship.
